Guinness Pictures if the Week 30 December 2012

It's the last Guinness pictures of the week for the year so I figured I ought to get this posted! Guinness had such a great time making new friends on his adventure up to New Hampshire

Unplugging!!

It's been a long time since I've had a truly unplugged vacation. Yes we certainly are very fortunate to travel as much as we do. (This year alone we were in Australia, Mongolia, China, England, Ireland, Scotland - well I went there... Not to mention trips to Chicago, 2 drives from Houston to Annapolis, New Hampshire and I am sure there are others I am missing!!) Much of our travel is work related (again I emphasize how fortunate we are to get to do this!) but that means the mind is always working and you never
get to truly relax (even though we get to see some super cool things.)

We decided we needed a few days together unplugged where the biggest decisions we have to make is what drink we want and what we want to eat. We are headed to Sandals Antigua where it's all included and all we have to do is sit back and relax!!!

I've left my computer at home. I do have my phone and Ken does have his iPad because we do need to check on a few things once or twice during the time we are gone but we have sworn no more than 15 minutes a couple times.

Here's to unplugging... Relaxing... And just enjoying!!

So Guinness's pictures of the week are a little behind and I've got some good ones I have yet to download so I am pretty sure you'll see a few blogs in the near future about this adorable crazy cartoon of a dog!

Guinness was a great little Santa's helper... he happily helped deliver presents to everyone in Ken's office.... though he was less than thrilled with his elf outfit!

Guinness Pictures of the Week - 16 December 2012

Some days I want to go all geek and put an actiwatch (something NASA uses on astronauts and test subjects to see how active they are during a timespan) on Guinness to measure just how much he sleeps during a day! He loves to run but then he also LOVES to sleep. Talk about polar opposites all in one adorable pooch! He is so absolutely adorable when he is sleeping in his funny positions...

Go Navy! Beat Army! Spirit Spots

So a tradition for many many years is for the Mids to create "spirit spots" for the Army Navy Game. Some are very elaborate, some are very clever, some are both, some are none of the above but all are great shows of spirit.

I've seen in some forum where people have gotten crabby about the fact that the Mids are creating things like this. Please remember that yes while they are at a Military Academy they are still college age students and they can't spend every single waking moment studying or drilling. More importantly things like this are huge morale boosters and are actually great tools in the fleet. (Anyone remember the "Pump It" video from some folks on deployment with free time on their hands? It was a huge morale boost for folks!)

Sorry I missed out on publishing Guinness's cuteness last weekend. The days have just been getting away from me lately! (For example - how the heck is it December already?!?!?)

We let Guinness "Clean" our bowl & plate after we finished all the dessert in/on it... he accidentally pushed it under the coffee table so he of course went after it...
